'Peace Be Upon Him' Post Made From Ayatollah Khamenei's X Account After Reports Of His Assassination

Tehran: Following reports of the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, a cryptic X post was made from one of his X accounts. The post, written in Persian, read, “In the name of Nami Haider (peace be upon him).”

A photo was also posted by the X account, showing a figure holding a sword in the backdrop of an ongoing airstrikes. Missiles were seen being fired on a land in the photo.

The cryptic post, which triggered widespread speculation online, was made shortly after US President Donald Trump stated that Khamenei is dead.

Some users interpreted the cryptic post as a sign that Khamenei is alive or that the Iranian leadership remains intact. Others viewed it as a symbolic acknowledgment amid mounting uncertainty. The phrase used in the post refers to Ali ibn Abi Talib, the first Shia Imam, and is traditionally associated with courage, resistance and divine victory. The slogan has often been used by Iran’s leadership during periods of conflict to signal resistance.

A social media user wrote, “It’s a Persian phrase meaning “In the noble name of Haidar.” Haidar is a title of Imam Ali, and the phrase is a respectful religious way of invoking his name at the beginning of something.”

Trump's Post Claiming Khamenei's Assassination

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said, “Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead.” Trump stated that Khamenei was unable to avoid US intelligence and their ”highly-sophisticated" tracking systems. He called the assassination of Khamenei a “justice for the people of Iran” and for all Americans and those people from countries, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his “gang of bloodthirsty thugs”. 

He further said, “This is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country. We are hearing that many of their IRGC, Military, and other Security and Police Forces, no longer want to fight, and are looking for Immunity from us. As I said last night, “Now they can have Immunity, later they only get Death!” Hopefully, the IRGC and Police will peacefully merge with the Iranian Patriots, and work together as a unit to bring back the Country to the Greatness it deserves. That process should soon be starting in that, not only the death of Khamenei but the Country has been, in only one day, very much destroyed and, even, obliterated. The heavy and pinpoint bombing, however, will continue, uninterrupted throughout the week or, as long as necessary to achieve our objective of PEACE THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST AND, INDEED, THE WORLD!”
