Ottawa: The outgoing Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, who recently stepped down from his position, was captured exiting Parliament in a ‘comical’ style, carrying a chair and with his tongue sticking out.

According to convention, when any MP leaves the House of Commons, they are allowed to take their chair and their seat with them, a political columnist said.

Netizens were not amused by the manner in which Trudeau made an exit. A social media user said that those chairs belong to taxpayers.

“Respectfully, I have to disagree with you. We taxpayers paid for those chairs. They are government property, not MPs' personal property. If they want to reimburse taxpayers for the cost of a new one, fine. If not, the chairs should be left there,” he said.

Another social media user wrote on his tongue sticking out pose, “That's the face of someone who's gotten away with something and knows he can't be touched.”

Another user said that, through this pose, he is mocking each and every Canadian citizen.

(Several social media users comment on Trudeau's style of exit from Parliament.)

Earlier, while addressing the Liberal Leadership Convention, Trudeau said he is proud of the work his government has done in the past 10 years.

"I am damn proud of what we've done over these past 10 years for the middle class and the people working hard to join it," he said.

Trudeau Stepped Down Amid Growing Pressure From His Own Party

Earlier in January, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced he will step down and end his nine-year stretch as leader. The decision followed as discontent grew about his position within the party ranks.

Former central banker Mark Carney is set to become the leader of Canada's ruling Liberal Party and the next Prime Minister.
