Trump Strongly Considering Imposing Large Scale Banking Sanctions, Tariffs On Russia
Donald Trump has said that he's considering imposing large scale sanctions on Russia until a ceasefire agreement and peace deal is finalised between Moscow.
Washington: Donald Trump on Friday said that he's considering imposing large scale sanctions on Russia until a ceasefire agreement and peace deal is finalised between Moscow and Kyiv. The US President warned both Russia and Ukraine to get on the table immediately before it's too late.
Taking to truth social, Donald Trump wrote, “Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely “pounding” Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large scale banking sanctions and tariffs on Russia until a ceasefire and final settlement agreement on peace is reached." To Russia and Ukraine, Trump said get to the table right now, before it is too late.
Trump has been trying hard to bring both Russia and Ukraine on the negotiating table to end the three year old war, which has killed hundreds and thousands of people. Trump last week publicly slammed Ukrainian counterpart as the Oval Office meeting between the two turned into a full public wild blowup.
Trump was visibly frustrated with Zelenskyy's conduct who was trying to play his cards with the US President when he wasn't in a position to do so. Trump bashed Zelenskyy who was not agreeing for a ceasefire with Russia saying he was losing the war and couldn't dictate terms.
The post against Russia from Trump came as he is facing criticism for increasing pressure on Ukraine to reach a deal while downplaying or even denying Moscow's responsibility for starting the war with its invasion three years ago.
In his Truth Social Post, Trump did not just express willingness of attacking Russia with strong sanctions, he almost gave an ultimatum to both Kyiv and Moscow to get to the table right now, before it is too late.
Trump pressing Ukraine more than Russia for peace deal
In the last couple of weeks, Trump pressurised Zelenskyy more, saying he was not ready for peace and just wanted to continue his gravy train going. Trump repeatedly attacked Zelenskyy for not respecting the United States which was trying to help his country to settle the war and save the lives of its people.
In one of his very recent statements, Trump slammed Zelenskyy for his ‘end of war with Russia very very far away remark’ saying, “This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer! It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the U.S. Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia. What are they thinking?”
Trump says Putin is a very smart but cunning person
In another statement, President Donald Trump had said that his counterpart Vladimir Putin was a very smart but cunning person, who had no plans to settle the war until he became the President.
Trump also took on the Europe which has a major stake in Russia-Ukraine war saying EU has spent more money buying Russian Oil and Gas than they have spent on defending Ukraine.
