British soldiers at the Army Foundation College at Uniacke Barracks in Harrogate joined in applauding Captain Sir Tom Moore, following the Prime Minister Boris Johnson's call for a nationwide clap in remembrance in parliament on Wednesday.

Captain Tom, a 100-year-old WWII veteran, died on Tuesday after contracting coronavirus.

A minute's silence was held in his honour in the House of Commons earlier on Wednesday.

He raised 33 million pounds ($34 million) for the National Health Service by walking laps of his garden, projecting him to fame in the early days of lockdown.
