US B-2 Stealth Bombers Strike Iran's Ballistic Missile Sites With 2000-Pound Bombs: Reports
The US launches another massive strike on Iran, targeting ballistic missile sites with 4 B-2 Stealth Bombers, dropping 2000-pound bombs at various locations to dismantle Iran's underground missile sites.
Tehran: The US forces have launched a fresh blistering attack on Iran, reportedly targeting underground ballistic missile sites. According to reports, at least 4 B-2 bombers dropped huge bombs to destroy underground missile sites, dealing a massive blow to the Iranian forces, as claimed by the US officials. The fresh attack has further escalated the tensions in the Middle East, with Iran vowing to respond with a more powerful force.
The US-Israel coordinated attacks, which began on Saturday, have triggered a massive attack and counterattack between the US, Iran, and Israel in the Middle East, leading to concerns of a mega conflict.
According to US defence officials, as claimed by foreign media reports, 4 B-2 stealth bombers flew round-trip from the US and dropped dozens of 2000-pound bombs on Iran's underground ballistic missile facilities. The B-2 Spirit, a cornerstone of American airpower and stealth technology, has been used in previous conflicts, including last June's strikes on Iran's nuclear sites. The fresh attacks were to cripple Iran's military capabilities, with the US and Israel looking to disrupt Tehran's ballistic missile program.
As per reports, the strikes have dealt massive blows to Iran's ability to carry out counterattacks, with an Israeli military official claiming that the central explosives facility was destroyed, along with hundreds of missiles and 200 ballistic missile launchers. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has also targeted other aspects of Iran's weapons industries, including anti-tank systems. However, Iran has vowed retaliation, launching hundreds of ballistic missiles at US bases in Gulf countries and Israel.
The conflict has already caused huge damage, with air hubs, densely populated areas, and oil shipments disrupted. The Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil chokepoint, is at risk of closure, threatening global energy supplies. The oil prices have surged, with Brent crude rising over 8% to $79.34 a barrel. The world remains on high alert, with global leaders calling for an immediate ceasefire.
Meanwhile, the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has created a leadership vacuum in Iran, increasing the fears of Middle East instability.
The US and Israel have signalled their willingness to engage in dialogue with Iran's new leadership. Further details regarding the ongoing conflict are awaited
