Brooklyn Subway Fire: 9 injured after fire breaks out on train track [Watch]

New York: Holiday spirits were dampened in New York after a fire broke out on a subway track in Brooklyn. According to the preliminary reports that are circulating online, at least 9 people were left injured after the smoke from the fire entered inside the subway. The videos of the whole incident started to circulate online in which several passengers can be seen trapped inside the train as the smoke billowing from the fire engulfs all its coaches. 

However, a major tragedy was averted after firefighters quickly responded to the incident and evacuated all the passengers who were trapped in the train. “Nine people injured in New York Subway fire caused by an electric bike fire,” a user wrote on X, formally known as Twitter. “People can be seen leaving as firemen come down the smoke-filled stairwell,” the user furthered, sharing the video of the passenger leaving the subway station which was also filled with smoke. 

Three patients hospitalised

While nine people were injured in the tragic incident, the authorities noted that 3 of the wounded passengers were taken to hospital. However, they assured that hospitalised victims are in stable condition. In another video circulating on social media, numerous emergency crews were seen stationed outside the subway station where the fire took place.  The official believed that the e-bike was thrown by someone on the tracks, however, the matter is still under investigation.
