Chilean President Pinera congratulates Biden on winning US election 2020

Chilean President Sebastián Piñera on Sunday sent his congratulations to US President-elect Joe Biden on his election victory.

"I'm glad that the electoral process in the United States has accomplished its mission, that is to choose a president," Piñera said.

He added he hoped the Biden presidency could work towards "uniting" the American people as well as contributing to global efforts to tackle climate change.

Piñera's remarks came following a meeting with the President of Colombia Iván Duque, whom he received at the Cerro Castillo palace in Viña del Mar.
