Washington Gov. Jay Inslee says that ten additional counties in the state will move to the second phase of the state's plan to end restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Democrat says that the behavior of people and local officials in those counties should be a model for the rest of the state.
Inslee said he does not want to have to re-impose restrictions. "This has been too painful," he said. "We do not want to go this twice."
The new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms for most people, but for some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness or death.
