Ahead of the Union Budget 2023-24, Minister of State (MoS) for Finance Dr Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad offered his prayers. While refraining from commenting on the Union Budget set to be presented today, the MoS Finance said that India has grown faster than other countries since 2014.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present her fifth straight budget today, the last full budget before the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

After offering prayers ahead of the presentation of Union Budget 2023, he said, “Country has made good recovery from COVID-19. If we look at the Economic Survey, all sectors are making progress. Compared to other countries, our economy is good. When PM took oath in 2014, India was 10th (in terms of economy), today it is 5th.”
“You will come to know at 11 AM what will the common public get. I would not like to make any comments at this point," he added.

On February 1, the Budget will be presented before the Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at 11 AM. Before that, under her leadership, Pankaj Chaudhary and Secretary will meet President Droupadi Murmu at 9 AM. At 10 AM, under PM Modi's leadership, a cabinet meeting will be held.
