On the occasion of 'Good Governance Day', the Government of India launched three new features on the iGOT Karmayogi Platform: My iGOT, Blended Programs, and Curated Programs. Along with 12 new domain-specific e-learning capacity-building courses as part of the Annual Capacity Building Plan (ACBP).

The day is designated to stimulate awareness among the citizens of the country about the accountability and administration of the government. Moreover, to impress the idea of 'Good Governance' among the different government departments.


History

Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi came into power back in 2014, he marked December 25 as 'Good Governance Day' on the birth anniversary of Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. While marking the first 'Good Governance Day' in 2014, PM Modi wrote on Twitter, now X, "There is no bigger tribute to Atal ji than celebrating his birthday as 'Good Governance Day' & pledging to devote ourselves to this cause."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered Bharat Ratna awardee, Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary. He posted a video on social media, featuring his efforts for the country.

Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh also took to X and paid tribute to former prime minister. He shared a video clip of Vajpayee orating in the Parliament.
