A crucial review meeting was held between the officials of the health ministry and National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) regarding the conduct of NEET-PG 2024. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)-PG 2024, initially scheduled for June 23 was postponed following new directives from the government.
In an exclusive interview with ANI, Dr. Abhijat Sheth, Director of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), revealed that the decision was made after a thorough review by officials from the Union Health Ministry and the National Board of Examination. "The postponement was prompted by a detailed assessment of the computer-based examination process and numerous inputs received from the government. The government has provided significant directives to the examination body and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)," Dr. Sheth explained.
Dr. Sheth also mentioned that more than 40 IT professionals were slated to monitor and resolve any technical issues during the exam. The NEET-PG examination is conducted by NBEMS with technical support from TCS. "We are committed to addressing even minor shortcomings to ensure the smooth conduct of the exam," he assured.
To further instill confidence in students and their families, Dr. Sheth highlighted that NBEMS collaborates with various security agencies, including the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), to maintain the integrity of the examination process. "We take assistance from state and central security agencies such as the CBI and Crime Branch to ensure robust security measures are in place at all exam centers," he stated.
The revised date for the NEET-PG 2024 examination will be announced soon.
