Mumbai University signs MoU with Oxford Centre to offer course on temple management

The course will focus on comprehensive study of Hindu philosophy with degree and certificate courses.

Mumbai: The Mumbai University will soon be offering a certificate course on temple management, in collaboration with Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Mumbai University and Oxford Centre.

Under this collaboration, it will be one of the various diploma and certificate-level courses to be available both in offline as well as in online mode. The university's Centre for Hindu Studies along with its Sanskrit Department has inked the MoU with the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, a press release issued by the university said.

The six-month certificate course will be started in line with the National Education Policy's thrust on incorporating the Indian knowledge system (IKS) in higher education curriculum. The university may extend the programme to a postgraduate diploma or an MBA programme in future, taking note of the employment opportunities and the interest among students. The course will focus on comprehensive study of Hindu philosophy with degree and certificate courses.
