Amidst the election fever at its peak with people across the spectrum joining the poll fray, dairy giant Amul is back with its iconic cartoons to capture the current mood of the country. Capturing the buzz created around the Bollywood celebrities like Sunny Deol, cricketer Gautam Gambhir joining the BJP and Urmila Matondkar joining the Congress, Amul on Thursday posted a caricature of the three eating slices of bread with Amul butter.

Using the tagline of '"Gambhir bhi Ghayal bhi" along with "Rangeela breakfast", Amul's cartoon beautifully captured the essence of the work of three icons in the past. While it referred to Gautam Gambhir's name and Ghayal, the super hit 90s movie starring Sunny Deol, for Matondkar it referred to her spectacular movie Rangeela.

Matondkar is in poll fray from the Mumbai North constituency, Cricketer Gautam Gambhir is contesting the elections from Delhi East constituency against AAP's Atishi Marlena. Deol who joined the party earlier this week, will be contesting from Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency of Punjab.

Earlier, Amul also captured the political controversy on the candidacy of Congress chief Rahul Gandhi's from Wayanad in Kerala, apart from Congress party’s bastion in Amethi, by creating one of its iconic 'utterly delicious' cartoons.

The cartoon showed a caricature of Rahul Gandhi holding slices of bread in each hand and standing on a stage delivering a speech. It was accompanied by a quote asking the Congress to contest from Wayanad in Kerala with a slice of Amul butter. They wrote: “Wayanad have it with butter?" Right below the tag, it used a catchphrase for Congress chief Rahul Gandhi as: “Amethi ka paratha.” The picture was captioned as “Amul topical: Congress President to contest from two seats in Lok Sabha 2019."
