Bala: Will Ayushmann starrer pit Yami Gautam against Bhumi Pednekar?

Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Bala is all set to hit the theatres in November this year. The film revolves around the concept of premature balding and how men deal with it. The movie is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and Jio Studios. Kaabil actor Yami Gautam and Saandh Ki Aankh actor Bhumi Pednekar will both be starring in the movie.

Yami Gautam revealed in an interview that she will portray the role of a model in the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer. She also mentioned that the character she plays is that of a locally famous model from Lucknow. The URI: The Surgical Strike actor claimed that the role is very different from any role she has ever played. On the other hand, Bhumi Pednekar’s role is reported to be that of a highly educated small-town girl. It is speculated that the two leading ladies will be seen pitting against each other for Ayushmann's attention.

About the leading ladies

Yami Gautam initially acted in TV serials and rose to fame with her role Ashima in Vicky Donor. She previously worked in South Indian movies as well. She currently has three movies in her kitty, one of which will release next year. Two of her movies, The Vanishing Act and one untitled movie has just been announced as of now. Their release dates are yet to be out. Bhumi Pednekar will be next seen in Saandh Ki Aankh with Taapsee Pannu and Pati Patni Aur Woh with Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday. Besides that, three more movies have been announced with Bhumi in the lead, namely, Saare Jahaan Se Achcha, Dolly kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare and Takt.

Ayushmann Khurrana has shared the screen space with both the actors before. While it was Vicky Donor that paired him with Yami Gautam, Bhumi Pednekar made her Bollywood debut opposite Khurrana in Dum Laga Ke Haisha in the year 2015. The duo also shared screen space in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan in the year 2017. Ayushmann received a positive response from the audience both the times for his on-screen chemistry with both Yami and Bhumi.

The cast and the crew of Bala recently wrapped up with the shoot. A sweet moment captured in the midst of the celebration was shared on her social media by Yami. The cast was seen cutting the wrap-up cake in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Bala is slated to release on 15 November 2019. The teaser that was released garnered a lot of attention and positive feedback from the netizens.
