Farhan Akhtar on being unsure about his career graph in Bollywood

Farhan Akhtar is a National Award-winning actor who has many feathers on his hat of being a director, actor and singer. Recently the actor had a box-office release called The Sky Is Pink. The film is about the inspiring story of the Chaudhary family. The movie also cast Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf in lead roles. The movie has had its fair share of controversy with the teen actor, Zaira deciding to quit Bollywood.

Right from Rock On to The Sky Is Pink, Farhan Akhtar has reportedly played a varied range of roles on screen. While in Rock On he played a struggling band singer, he played a sportsman in Bhag Milkha Bhag and also a father struggling for his daughter’s life in his latest movie. In an interview when asked about his choice of roles, the Farhan Akhtar reportedly said that he does not “strategize” his career and simply goes with the flow. He does not know where he will land up in the next five years. The only thing that he hopes for is that his audience should never lose interest from the kind of content that he churns out.

True to his words, Farhan Akhtar has played a myriad of characters, not one similar to another in any way. He also reportedly added that so far the actor has been driven by instinct and collaborate with people who share his thought. Farhan Akhtar and his business partner, Ritesh Sidhwani reportedly believe that they are audience themselves and if they like a story then the audience is bound to like it too.

As the son of an iconic poet, Javed Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar feels that writing comes naturally to him. He reportedly told in the interview that he has been making films for the past 19 years and he would not be where he is if it was for not the appreciation of the people. He also said that such appreciation gave him confidence.

Farhan Akhtar's upcoming movie

The next film that Farhan Akhtar has lined up in his kitty is Toofan which revolves around a boxer. While nothing at all has been revealed about the storyline yet, Farhan is reportedly working out and training for the role of the boxer. The actor admits that it is a physically demanding role and he has to undergo strict training to fit the role. The movie is tentatively expected to release sometime around October 2020.
