Vicky Kaushal starrer 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' has been dubbed as the first blockbuster of 2019. Based on the Indian army's daring covert operation to destroy terrorist launchpads in PoK, the film has achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success. However, even the Aditya Dhar directorial could not save itself from the plague of online piracy.
The notorious online piracy group Tamilrockers have leaked the full film on their site. The action-packed drama is now available for download, much to the dismay of the makers. It must be noted that in order to curb this menace, the makers of Uri had specifically added a copy on torrents with a message to watch the film in theatres and to not do so illegally.
In the video, Vicky and Yami Gautam's character can be seen directly addressing the screen as they urge the audience to not resort to such measures. Just when it seemed like the team has the situation under control, the notorious Tamilrockers struck again.
However, this is not the only film to have fallen prey to the group. Many Bollywood, Tamil films and even Hollywood flicks have been leaked online. Just recently Rajinikanth's 'Petta', Ajith Kumar's 'Viswasam' and Anupam Kher's 'The Accidental Prime Minister' had fallen prey to them, with Uri now joining the ranks. In spite of several attempts from authorities, Tamilrockers has been really hard to trace as new proxy websites keep cropping up.
Other than this setback though, the Vicky Kaushal starrer has been jumping from strength to strength as it amassed more than Rs 70 crore in just a week since its big release.
