Ranbir Kapoor on dad Rishi: He is a bit too honest, but a good man

Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor's equation with each other has always been the talk of the town. The father-son duo might not share the idealistic bond that everyone looks up, to but there are times when these two make their fans go "Awww." Rishi Kapoor recently returned from New York after a year. He was being treated for cancer and now has reportedly recovered from it. Rishi Kapoor, throughout the year of his treatment, was pretty active on Twitter and was quick to share images and tweet about which of his fellow friends visited him in New York during his treatment and recovery phase. The veteran actor also retweeted a picture of his on his Twitter handle, which is the first picture of his after his treatment, that was shared by the ace photographer Avinash Gowarikar.

Rishi Kapoor, in an interview with a daily, opened up about his relationship with his son Ranbir. Rishi said that he has screwed up his relationship with Ranbir even after being warned by his wife Neetu Kapoor. He added that it was too late to change whatever has gone wrong and both of them will not be able to adjust to the changes henceforth. The 102 Not Out actor further said that he has never been friends with Ranbir and regrets it but would also not want to be on back-slapping terms with his son.

When the Sanju actor was asked about his equation with his father, Ranbir stated that he shares a formal relationship with his father.

 In an interview with PTI, Ranbir said, “I want to imbibe a lot of qualities of him like his passion for cinema, hard work that he still puts in for a film after being in the industry for 35 years and his family values.” He further expressed “I still have a little bit of a formal relation with my father but there is a lot of love and care. It has become better from before. Now, I have become a professional, so we can talk to each other about work.” When asked about his father's bold tweets, Ranbir was quick to respond saying, “He is a good man. He may be a bit brash and bit too honest, controversial in his tweets and how he puts things across but I think it comes from an honest place. He is not a hypocrite, he is a good man. I aspire to be like him but I am very far from it.”
