Toofan: Farhan Akhtar suffers hairline fracture in prep, shares pic

Farhan Akhtar is reuniting with the man who has given him his biggest success, first and only Rs 100 crore hit, his only Filmfare Best Actor Award, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for Toofan. Be it building an enviable physique and looking exactly as the legendary Milkha Singh or expressing his myriad emotions, the actor-filmmaker had nailed the part in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. If the initial days of this journey for Toofan is anything to go by, Farhan could be gearing up for another such performance once again. The Rock On!! Star has exerted himself too much for the role, because of which, he suffered an injury on the sets. He is grappling with a hairline fracture on his hamate in his hands, but that didn't dampen his spirit as he said, ‘no pain, no gain.’

Farhan on Sunday shared an image of an X-Ray report of his hand. In the image, he also highlighted the fracture at the hammate bone, below his ring finger. He captioned the post, “When nature plays Tetris .. and yup, that’s my first legit boxing injury .. a hairline fracture on the hamate (courtesy @kongkoul 🙏🏼)found among the carpal bones of the hand. 👊🏼 #nopainnogain #ToofanInTheMaking #trophycollector #weareallthesameinside.” 

Several stars wished him a speedy recovery and fans would hope that he would soon resume the shooting.

Farhan Akhtar has been prepping for Toofan for close to six months. The film had gone on floors in August this year. The Don filmmaker has also been sharing snaps and videos of his training sessions for the film. 

Recently, the first poster of the movie was unveiled, which featured a still of Farhan Akhtar as a boxer in the ring. The movie has been confirmed to hit the screens a year later on October 2. He is also one of the producers of the movie alongside Ritesh Sidhwani and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

Not just Toofan 

Farhan Akhtar, meanwhile, has a lot going on for him on the professional front. His film The Sky is Pink also starring Priyanka Chopra hit the screens on Friday and has been hailed by the critics. His banner also distributed the Hindi version of Telugu hit Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Moreover, his production Gully Boy was chosen as India’s official entry for the Oscars in the foreign language category.
