Greta was out for dinner with Noah and Timothee when they bumped into a group of girls, who were big fans of the director. In a conversation with Entertainment News, they told the publication that they are all Barnard College grads, the same as Greta.
Mariel O'Connell, one of the fans, said on behalf of the group that they "couldn't resist getting a chance to talk to someone we all admire so much." She recalled that Timothee "stood off to the side looking proud and beaming for his successful friend," O'Connell added that when Greta proposed that they take a picture to remember the occasion, Timothee "enthusiastically rushed in and volunteered to take it for us.”

The filmmaker had earlier stated that she wanted Timothee and Saoirse Ronan to make appearances in the Barbie movie. Saoirse has also worked with Greta in Lady Bird and Little Women. Greta had said, "I was also going to do a speciality cameo with Timmy, and both of them couldn't do it, and I was so annoyed but I love them so much. But it felt like doing something without my children. I mean, I'm not their mom, but I sort of feel like their mom."
Barbie had the biggest opening weekend of the year, collecting $162 million. The film also became the best opener by a female director. This record was previously held by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's Captain Marvel (2019) which had opened at $153 million. Barbie is currently running in theatres worldwide.
