Indian 2: Kamal Haasan flaunts his love for the country in Independence Day poster

India is celebrating its 77th Independence Day today (August 15), and on this occasion, filmmaker Shankar Shanmugham shared a new poster of Indian 2. It is a sequel to the 1996 film Indian. In the film, Kamal Haasan will be reprising his role as Senapathy/Indian, an old freedom fighter turned vigilante.

New poster of Indian 2

On Tuesday, the director took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle to share a new poster of Indian 2. In the image, Kamal Haasan is standing, leaning his hand on a table, while in the background, we can see tricoloured balloons. The actor is dressed in Khaki and is sporting a tricoloured badget on his left.

It is not a new avatar of Kamal Haasan, in the prequel Indian, the 68-year-old actor sported a similar look. The character, however, will be "bolder and wiser" in the upcoming sequel. 

Director, to show a de-aged Kamal Haasan in Indian 2?

Last month, the director Shankar Shanmugham took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle and shared an update on the film. He shared a picture of himself sitting inside a VFX studio, surrounded by white lights. Sharing the post, he wrote, "Scanning the advanced technology of Lola VFX LA," hinting that they might use the technology to show young Kamal Haasan.

The film marks the reunion of Shankar and Kamal Haasan after 24 years. In the film, the music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
