Rajinikanth starrer Jailer will make its theatrical debut on August 10. The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Tamannaah Bhatia in major roles. While the early morning screening for the films starring popular heroes typically start as early as 2 am, due to the new government policy, Tamil Nadu will only be able to watch the film from 9 am.

2 things you need to know

  • Jailer is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
  • The movie's runtime has been revealed to be two hours and forty-eight minutes.

Jailer release to delay in Tamil Nadu?

The current Tamil Nadu government regulation only permits theatres to open at 9am. Therefore, Jailer’s shows will start in Kerala and Karnataka by 6am, and the schedule will be the same in the US. Since this information became public, Thalaivar fans have been venting their frustration on social media about having to see the movie hours after their neighbour states and people in other countries. They are complaining about the timings of the screenings as the internet will be flooded with audience feedback and movie spoilers before their first performance show.

The state government has said that on any government holidays, customers can request special performances, and that only theatres should be permitted to play special shows with the government's approval. However, because Jailer is launching on a non-official holiday, there is no option for special screenings or early screenings in Tamil Nadu. Instead, all screenings will begin at 9 AM.
