Takht: Anil Kapoor expresses his views as he preps for his first period drama
Anil Kapoor will be starring in his first-period drama, Takht. In an interview, the actor recently expressed his views as he stars prepping for the film.

Takht is reported to be Anil Kapoor's first-period drama and is being produced by Dharma Productions. Anil Kapoor was recently quoted as saying that he is slowly getting into the headspace of his character in the film. He also said that he is equal parts scared and confident about working on the historical drama. He will reportedly be portraying the role of Shahjahan, the Mughal emperor.

Takht records the story of two warring brothers. The film will also feature Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, and Janhvi Kapoor. The producers of the film uploaded a picture revealing the star cast of the film on their social media handle.

Anil Kapoor stands by his choice of films and believes that many of them have worked out well for him. Anil Kapoor said that over the years several people have advised him ‘what kinds of films to feature in’ but he believes in listening to his instinct. He further added, "The films which have become most relevant, I had been advised not to do them. Ishwar, Lamhe, even Race. The entire world told me not to do Race but I benefited so much from all the three parts. I benefited from first, got money from the second and in third my role was appreciated and I got nominated."

On the work front
Anil Kapoor will next be seen in Anees Bazmee’s multi-starrer comedy film Pagalpanti. The film also stars John Abraham, Arshad Warsi, Pulkit Samrat, Ileana D’cruz, and Kriti Kharbanda. Paagalpanti is said to be Anil Kapoor’s third release this year, after Total Dhamaal and Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga.
