Animal box office: Ranbir Kapoor starrer becomes 5th highest Bollywood grosser in Kerala

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s recently released movie Animal is enjoying massive success at the box office. The movie which stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead has now hit a milestone by grossing Rs 5.5 crores in just 26 days in Kerala.

Animal’s box office update in Kerala

According to Forum Keralam, Animal has secured its position as the fifth highest-grossing Bollywood film in Kerala. The list now includes Jawan (Rs 13.4 Cr), Pathaan (13.2 Cr), Dangal (10.1 Cr), PK (5.6 Cr), Animal (5.5 Cr) and Padmaavat (5.5 Cr).

The storyline of Animal revolves around Ranvijay "Vijay" Singh seeking revenge after discovering a plot to assassinate his father. This action-packed drama, directed and edited by Sandeep Reddy Vanga has a star-studded cast that includes Ranbir alongside Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri.

When the cast of Animal predicted the movie’s box office collection

The movie’s co-producer and Sandeep’s brother Pranay Reddy Vanga told Pinkvilla, “We had a discussion in Hyderabad. RK was asking everyone when we were in a meeting, he asked AK (Anil Kapoor) sir, ‘How much will the box office be as per you?’ While Anil predicted a collection of Rs 350 crore for the movie, he said he would be happy if it earned Rs 400 crore”.

Revealing that Rashmika predicted a collection of Rs 300, he said that T-Series’ head Bhushan Kumar preferred not to say anything. “He asked me, I said, ‘For the kind of effort we have put in the last three years, I won’t be happy if it would be anything less than Rs 500 cr. Then RK was very happy on hearing Rs 500 crore and now it has become a reality, we are very happy”, Pranay concluded.

Animal's worldwide collection currently stands at Rs 881.3 crores with a domestic net of Rs 539.09 crores.
