Shibani Dandekar opens up about couples therapy
During the conversation, Shibani candidly opened up about how her bond with Farhan changed after marriage. She shared that they started going to couple therapy around six months before or after their engagement. "It wasn’t one person convincing the other. It was like this is something that sounds like a smart thing to do," she added. The couple continued their therapy sessions even after the wedding and stressed that it was important to guide them. “It’s like going to the gym. You have to keep working on it. So, there are times when we go for sessions and it’s every couple of weeks and sometimes we go in there and we just look at each other and we’re like we have nothing to talk about. There are days where we go in and we were like we are going to need longer than an hour because let me just tell you some things about this guy right here…There are times where we maybe get into a fight at home and we know we’ve got to see our therapist on Wednesday. So, we will just wait or I will try and wait. I want to get into it right now and he’ll be like ‘Let’s just wait and discuss it on Wednesday’," she added.

In the same conversation, Shibani recalled being told she was a "gold digger" and that her inter-faith marriage was "love jihad" via social media. Elaborating on the same, the actress said she is not a gold digger and it is true that Farhan comes from a Muslim family and she is from a Hindu family. But they are "very happy" with their marriage. "So, people can say whatever they want about us, it is what it is," she added.
Shibani and Farhan dated for around four years before getting married in a low-key intimate ceremony at Javed Akhtar's Khandala farmhouse. Farhan was earlier married to Adhuna Bhabnani and the ex-couple share two daughters Shakya and Akira.
