Known as Mr Perfectionist, Aamir Khan has made a name for himself in the Indian film business with his distinctive role choices and outstanding performances. His action thriller Ghajini, which released in cinemas in 2008, was a massive hit. Filmmaker AR Murugadoss , who had helmed this film has revealed an interesting update about the sequel.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, AR Murugadoss addressed the buzz surrounding Ghajini 2 and said, “We have some ideas. Right now, we all are busy with our respective projects. Once we get time, we will sit and discuss.”
He further added that, he met Aamir Khan on the sets of Sitaare Zameen Par and often discuss over the call. The director was also asked about the trend, he said, “Now the re-release trend has started. So all the old hit films are released on the hero's birthday or on holidays.”
For the unversed, Ghajini is the remake of Tamil film of the same name. Apart from Aamir Khan, the film starred Asin Thottumkal, Jiah Khan and Pradeep Rawat among others. This film also marked Asin’s film debut in which she also reprised her role from the original version.
National Award winner Suriya is set to star in the Tamil version of Ghajini 2 with Aamir Khan. In a interview with Pinkvilla, the Kanguva actor was asked about the blockbuster hit Ghajini and his experience working on the masterpiece. He replied saying, "It's surprising that you mentioned Ghajini 2 now. After a long time, Allu Aravind approached me with the idea of a sequel and asked if it was possible. I said, 'Definitely, sir, we can consider it.' Talks have started, and things are in progress. Ghajini 2 might happen."
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena are planning to make waves in the film industry by shooting Ghajini 2 simultaneously in both Hindi and Tamil.
