Krrish 4 In Limbo? Hrithik Roshan's ₹700 Cr Film Delayed After Rakesh Roshan, Siddharth Anand Back Out Of Actioner

Rakesh Roshan is known for giving several hits and memorable movies to Hindi cinema, among all is the Hrithik Roshan starrer Krrish franchise. But, seems like fans might have to wait more for Krrish 4 as the film has reportedly been halted due to budget constraints. Moreover, producer Siddharth Anand and director Rakesh Roshan have  exited the film.

Krrish 4: Delayed or Shelved? Netizens react

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, a source has revealed that, “Krrish 4 warrants the budget of approx. ₹700 crores, and no studio is willing to shell out such an exorbitant amount and take that big a risk. Hrithik had assigned the job of getting a studio on board to his friend, Siddharth Anand, who was also producing the film”. The source further revealed that, “The studios were not confident about Krrish at this budget in the post-Marvel era as it has been more than a decade since the release of Krrish 4."

Rakesh Roshan hinted that he might not be directing any films further. He said, “The day has to come when I have to pass on the baton. So, it’s better I do it when I am in my senses, so that I can overlook the process as well and ascertain whether he’s doing it correctly or not. Tomorrow, if I am not in my senses and I’ll have to pass it on, I will not know what they are making”.

As soon as the information spread, netizens were upset and flooded the comment section to express their views. One user wrote, “#Krrish4 will be made someday. Why are good movies always delayed? Everyone wants Krrish 4!!!!”. Another user wrote, “#Krrish4 is No delayed..Please sir…Hrithik Fans Like and Love Krrish 4 Release Date on Summer 2026”.

What else had Rakesh Roshan revealed about Krrish 4?

In an interaction with Gaana, Rakesh Roshan revealed that he has been waiting for years now but he is unable to form a budget. "Picture ka scale bada hai. Scale chota karta hoon toh ek aam picture lagti hai. The world has become smaller. Aaj kal ke jo bacche hain, voh superheroes ki pictures itni dekh chuke hain ki unhe thoda sa bhi kuch fault nazar aayega toh criticise karenge."

"We have to be very careful. Aur hum uss paimaane (Marvel, DC) ki picture bana nahi sakte hain. Itne paise hote nahi hain humare paas. Our budget doesn’t allow us… Hume kahani pe zyada concentrate karna padta hai. Halaki bade bade sequences honge picture main par agar 10 nahi honge toh 2 honge ya 3 honge," he added.

The Krrish franchise began with Koi Mil Gaya (2003), starring Hrithik and Preity Zinta . On witnessing the success of the movie, Rakesh Roshan decided to make a sequel with the title Krrish. For the unversed, Krrish 3 was released on November 1, 2013. Directed by Rakesh Roshan, the film featured Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut , Vivek Oberoi, Shaurya Chauhan and Arif Zakaria among others.
