Ratan Tata Dies: Following the news of the Padma Vibhushan businessman's demise, several celebrities took to social media to express their condolences.

Ratan Tata Dies: Tata Group’s chairman emeritus and veteran industrialist Ratan Tata died at a Mumbai hospital late Wednesday night. Tata, who led the salt-to-software conglomerate to new heights, was 86. Following his demise, several celebrities took to their social media account to share heartfelt tributes to the doyen and express their grief.

Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh and Simi Garewal share condolence messages for Ratan Tata 

Among the celebrities who expressed grief at the passing away of the business tycoon was Priyanka Chopra, who is settled in the USA with her husband Nick Jonas and daughter Malti Marie. She took to her X (formerly Twitter) to write, "Through your kindness, you touched the lives of millions. Your legacy of leadership and generosity will continue to inspire generations. Thank you for your unmatched passion and dedication for everything you did for our country. You have been an inspiration to us all and will be greatly missed, Sir."

Anushka Sharma took to her Instagram stories to share a monochrome photo of the industrialist with the caption, “Deeply saddened by the tragic news of Shri Ratan Tata. He upheld the values of integrity, grace & dignity through everything he did & was truly an icon & Taj of India. RIP Sir, You have touched so many lives.”

Simi Garewal, who was rumoured to be dating, also shared her message on social media. She shared his photo with the message, “They say you have gone. It's so hard to bear your loss..too hard. Farewell my friend..#ratantata”

Ranveer Singh too shared a photo of Ratan Tata with simply an infinity symbol in the caption.

Other celebrities who shared their tribute included SS Rajamouli, Jr NTR and several others. 

Shraddha Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Varun Dhawan and others pay tribute to Ratan Tata 

Shraddha Kapoor took to her Instagram account to share a photo of Ratan Tata and wrote in the caption, “Sir Ratan Tata showed us that true success is measured by the lives we touch. Grateful for his inspiration, and for teaching us to lead with kindness. True legacies are built on what we leave behind… Thank you for everything, Sir”

Triptii Dimri and Rashmika Mandanna also shared tribute. Varun Dhawan also shared a photo of the businessman with the caption, “A great loss for the nation." Pulkit Samrat, Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani also shared their heartfelt contributions.

A recipient of Padma Vibhushan, he breathed his last at south Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital at 11.30 pm, a top police official told PTI. He was admitted to the hospital for the past few days. In a statement, Tata's family said, "We his brothers, sisters, and family take solace and comfort in the outpouring of love and respect from all who admired him. While he is no longer with us in person, his legacy of humility, generosity and purpose will continue to inspire future generations."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi , in a post on social media platform X, condoled the death of Tata saying he was "extremely pained by his passing away". "Shri Ratan Tata Ji was a visionary business leader, a compassionate soul and an extraordinary human being. He provided stable leadership to one of India's oldest and most prestigious business houses," Modi said. The prime minister further said, “At the same time, his contribution went far beyond the boardroom. He endeared himself to several people thanks to his humility, kindness and unwavering commitment to making our society better.”
