Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan’s daughter Shweta Bachchan is an established author, columnist, and entrepreneur and has been married to a renowned businessman, Nikhil Nanda for 48 years. The couple tied the knot on February 16, 1977, and have two children. Recently, an old interview of Shweta has gone viral on Reddit, where she shared that she decided to marry Nikhil just 10 days after meeting him. However, what has caught everyone's attention is her father Amitabh Bachchan ’s witty reaction.

An old interview clip is going viral of the time when Shweta Bachchan appeared on Simi Garewal’s show alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, and Abhishek Bachchan . In the video, Big B’s daughter is seen sharing that Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla introduced her to Nikhil Nanda while she was on a break from college and visiting Mumbai.

Shweta explained, “They made me meet him, and we chatted and we clicked… I just knew him 10 days before he proposed to me… I thought for five minutes." She also mentioned that she never went on a date with Nikhil Nanda. Amitabh Bachchan commented, “I hope my samdhis are happy, and I hope my son-in-law is happy."

The video has gone viral, with netizens reacting to it. One user noted, “I hope my son-in-law is happy with her” instead of saying “I hope my daughter is happy with him.” They added, “Just a subtle change in the framing of words but speaks volumes.” Another commented, “I feel for her. Nikhil Nanda and Shweta Bachchan have two children, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda.

Who is Nikhil Nanda?

Nikhil Nanda was born on March 18, 1974, and is the serving chairman and managing director of Escorts Limited after he succeeded his father, Rajan Nanda, in 2018. The company is an engineering firm and was established in 1944 by his paternal grandfather, Har Prasad Nanda.

Nanda joined Escorts Limited as Chief Operating Officer in October 2005. He became Joint Managing Director in September 2007 and took on the role of Managing Director in September 2013. After his father's passing at the age of 76, he assumed the position of chairman. In 2001, the World Economic Forum in Geneva recognised him as one of five Indians named Global Leaders of Tomorrow.
