Demi Lovato gets engaged to musician Jordan Lutes post surprise Los Angeles proposal

Demi Lovato is now engaged. The singer and songwriter, 31, got engaged to partner Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes, a musician. Lutes, 32, and Lovato met back in January of 2022 in lieu of working on Lovato's song Substance. The professional collaboration soon blossomed into a romance with the pair going public in August of that year. The two are now engaged to be married.

In an exclusive revelation to People, Demi Lovato revealed that they are now engaged to musician Jordan Lutes. Lutes popped the question to Lovato in what was a surprise proposal in Los Angeles. The "personal and intimate" affair, as described by Lovato, was followed by a dinner at city hotspot Craig's, attended by both their families who were in on the surprise.

Professionally, Lutes has writing credits on some of Lovato's other songs as well - namely, Happy Ending and City of Angels, both from their album Holy Fvck. Addressing their relationship earlier this year to CBS Mornings, Lovato said, "I definitely am in a really good place. I don't know what I'm going to write about on my next album because I'm so happy. It is a really good feeling...definitely a bunch of sappy love songs, for sure."

Demi Lovato's engagement ring is a bespoke pear-shaped diamond. The piece of jewellery was curated in collaboration with NYC-based fine jewelry boutique Material Good. Lutes himself was part of the curation process and design working closely with  Teresa Panico, Material Good's Director of Marketing and Fine Jewelry, at the retailer's SoHo, NYC location.

Demi Lovato has on multiple occasions addressed their relationship with Jutes, also sharing anecdotes like the time he insisted they be involved in the inking process for his latest tattoo. No official wedding date has been announced yet.
