Hunnam, now 43, had been in contention to portray Darth Vader's younger self in Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005) but ultimately lost the role to Hayden Christensen.

Hunnam vaguely remembered the encounter, acknowledging the discomfort he felt and the certainty of not landing the role based on the vibes of the meeting.

Anakin Skywalker's character transitioned into Darth Vader, initially portrayed by child actor Jake Lloyd in 'The Phantom Menace' (1999). Christensen expressed a sense of loyalty to Lucas, feeling a tinge of guilt when returning to the franchise without Lucas's direct involvement, acknowledging the significance of the creator's vision in their decisions.
