Matthew Perry's ex-girlfriend Kayti Edwards breaks silence on 'superglue' incident. She talked about his painful struggle with addiction calling it sad.
In the aftermath of Matthew Perry's tragic passing, revelations about the dark struggles behind his comedic facade have come to light. Perry's ex-girlfriend, Kayti Edwards revealed a chilling detail from his past, shedding light on the desperate measures he took in his battle against addiction.
Kayti Edwards reveals shocking details
Edwards, who began dating the Friends actor in 2006 after a chance meeting at an Alcoholics Anonymous gathering, has called for an investigation into Perry's doctors following the autopsy report citing a Ketamine overdose as the cause of death. In a recent interview with The Sun UK, she recollected a haunting visit to Perry's Hollywood Hills residence during the peak of his addictions.
“I was at Matthew’s place in the Hollywood Hills. He was in a bad way,” Edwards revealed, talking about his state of intoxication. She recounted a distressing moment when she found him high on a variety of drugs, likely including crack cocaine. Shockingly, Perry had taken an extreme step in an attempt to resist succumbing to his vices – he had superglued his own hands to his knees.
Matthew Perry’s situation was ‘too sad’
Describing the heart-wrenching scene, Edwards explained, “It was desperately sad. I had to use nail polish remover and olive oil to free him.” The process involved literally ripping hair from Perry's legs, leaving behind red, raw patches. Edwards highlighted the gravity of the situation, emphasising the horror of discovering him in such a vulnerable state.
This revelation adds a new layer to Perry's long-standing battle with addiction, a struggle that Edwards previously addressed in a 2020 interview. She disclosed that during her pregnancy, Perry had exploited their relationship to obtain "cocaine, heroin, and crack." Even during periods of supposed sobriety and rehabilitation, Perry would express a disturbing desire for drugs.
