Kanatra star Rishab Shetty adopts government school in hometown Keradi

Rishab Shetty adopted the endangered government Kannada school of Keradi located in the Byndoor taluk of the Udupi district in Karnataka.

Rishab Shetty is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Kantara 2. He has been filming for the project and will debut it in theatres sometime next year. In recent news, the actor has adopted Government Higher Primary School in his hometown Keradi, located in the Byndoor taluk of the Udupi district.

Rishab Shetty to sponsor a government school

Rishab, who conveyed the importance and raising awareness about the survival of Kannada schools through his film Sarkari Hi Pra Shaale, has adopted the endangered government Kannada school of Keradi through the Rishab Shetty Foundation.

The village leaders and elders were present on the occasion and congratulated Rishab on the adoption of the village school. The actor’s Sarkari Hi Pra Shaale was declared a blockbuster at the box office. In 2019, it won the National Film Award for Best Children's Film, at the 66th National Film Awards.

What to expect from Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1? 

Meanwhile, Rishab has begun preparation for the next part of the much-awaited Kantara, titled Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1. According to the actor-director, the film will explore the origins of the Panjurli Deiva and Guliga Deiva, which were core elements in the first film of the franchise. It took about three months to write the prequel of Kantara, he added.

“We had everything ready… The script, dialogue, production, and everything else was ready in three months. We started work on the prequel soon after shooting Kantara as we had plans to do a lot of things. A script like this takes a lot of time,” said Rishab.

Produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1 will be released in theatres next year in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali and English.
