Kim Soo Hyun Controversy: Trouble Mounts For South Korean Actor After His Post On Day Of Kim Sae-Ron's Death Goes Viral

Kim Soo Hyun is grabbing headlines not for his acting skills, but for his alleged relationship with late actress Kim Sae Ron. The controversy has now taken a new turn after social media users have dug up new information in regard to the matter. Moreover, the actor's agency has even released an official statement.

A post shared on X is going viral in which Kim Soo Hyun had uploaded a snap from his birthday bash on February 16, the same day when Kim Sae Ron was found dead. In the picture, he is seen expressing gratitude to fans for showering him with a a multitude of gifts and flowers on his special day. Many took to the platform and are outraged how could he even celebrate. One user wrote, “That’s disgusting”. Another user wrote, “Opening to find out Kim Soo Hyun is a literal predator and a pedo wasn’t on my bingo card”.

Why is Kim Soo Hyun facing backlash for Kim Sae Ron’s death?

Recently, during an appearance on YouTube channel, Kim Sae Ron’s aunt made serious allegation against the Queen of Tears actor saying that the duo were dating when the Kim Sae Ron was only a minor , 15 and Kim Soo Hyun was 27 then. Since, then, the South Korean star has been come under fire and calls for boycott are rising day by day.

The actor’s agency Gold Medalist has released o statement that they will correct the false statements and will counter the baseless rumours. They stated, “Hello, this is GOLDMEDALIST. We are issuing a statement on behalf of Kim Soo Hyun regarding the recent reports by HoverLab Inc. (hereafter referred to as HoverLab). Previously, GOLDMEDALIST announced that we would release a statement next week based on verifiable evidence to refute the claims made by HoverLab.”

The agency further stated, “However, early this morning, Kim Soo Hyun exhibited signs of severe psychological instability, and we have taken measures to ensure that he can achieve absolute stability. Following HoverLab’s report, Kim Soo Hyun has been experiencing extreme confusion due to claims that the cause of the sudden death of the deceased is attributed to him. Additionally, on the night of March 12, after HoverLab’s broadcast, a vehicle with individuals holding cameras was stationed across from the company’s main entrance and in the parking lot until dawn. On March 13, around lunchtime, individuals with cameras were seen loitering around the building, continuing the psychological pressure on Kim Soo Hyun.”

They concluded by writing, “Given these circumstances, we kindly ask for your understanding as we urgently release a statement to clarify the key issues. Although this deviates from our original plan, nothing takes precedence over this matter, and we felt it necessary to communicate even if there are shortcomings.Thank you.

On February 16, Kim was found dead by a friend in her home in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong District, Seoul. She was 24 years old. By the time of her death, she reportedly had a debt of more than ₩700 million won ($486,000) to her agency as a result of these settlements.
