Netflix's 'The Dig' Cast: Here's All You Need To Know About The Actors In This Period Film

Netflix's The Dig cast has left everyone impressed. The Dig revolves around the biggest archaeological dig in the UK that changed many assumptions the country had made about its history. Based on a true story, the film is about Robert Pretty and Edith Pretty, a mother-son duo who live in the Sutton Hoo estate which is surrounded by mounds. It is Robert's wish that these mounds be dug up. When Edith Pretty hires Basil Brown for the dig, they do not expect to find an 80-feet large ship below! Who plays the lead characters?

Netflix's The Dig cast is a stellar collection of talent in one film! British actor Carey Mulligan stars as Edith Pretty and Ralph Fiennes stars as Basil Brown. Edith Pretty comes from a wealthy manufacturing family and Basil Brown is an amateur archaeologist that the Ipswich Museum put her in touch with.

Together, they embark on a mission to unearth what is under the 18 mounds that are on her estate! Netflix's The Dig cast is essentially British and everything else like the costume, the sets, and the picturisation is said to add to this essence.

She was previously seen in Downtown Abbey, Baby Driver, Cinderella etc. Peggy's love interest and Edith's nephew, Rory comes to stay with her during the excavation and is the only fictional character in the film, played by Johnny Flynn. Flynn was previously seen in Lovesick, Emma, and Vanity Fair. Ben Chaplin plays Stuart Piggot, who is a professional archaeologist who takes over from Brown when things get serious. It's safe to say that Netflix's The Dig cast demands to be taken seriously.

Robert Pretty loses his father young and lives with his mother alone. His character is played by Archie Barnes, child actor. He has previously worked in one project before which was a 2018 family comedy.
