More precisely, the date being floated, is January 12, around the auspicious occasion of Sankranti 2024. If the price at which Salaar's digital rights have been sold are true, the sum marks the highest ever bid for a South Indian film. Interestingly, January 12 also marks the release of Prabhas' next pan-India project Kalki 2898 AD, helmed by Nag Ashwin. The film will see him share screen space with the likes of Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone.

Prabhas is elated with the response to Salaar

Salaar's success comes after the massive Adipurush debacle. Director Prashanth Neel recently shared how Prabhas is "over the moon" with the response for Salaar. Speaking about himself, the director said that as he has made the film it is close to impossible to feel completely satisfied with it - something he had also felt for the KGF franchise.

Neel said, "I mean, he is absolutely over the moon with something like this. I don't think any filmmaker is going to be completely satisfied. So I won't be satisfied even if it, even with KGF 2, I was not satisfied with what I did. So, I mean, his reaction is euphoric. We are all very happy that, we got Deva right in the movie..." Salaar: Part One - Ceasefire is currently running in theatres.
