Neena Gupta is gearing up for the release of her upcoming web series Panchayat 3. In the series, she plays the role of Manju Devi, Pradhan of the Phulera village. The series has debuted on the OTT platform, today, May 28. However, on Monday, the makers held a special screening in Mumbai which was attended by the cast and other B-town celebs.

Neena Gupta gets age-shamed at screening

For the screening event, Neena Gupta, 64, arrived in a white short co-ord set paired with sneakers. Her bold appearance didn't sit well with a section of the internet and they slammed the actress for wearing such short clothes. A paparazzo account shared a video showing the veteran actress happily posing for the shutterbugs stationed at the venue. Soon after the video was dropped, netizens flooded the comment section with nasty messages.

A user wrote, "Why are you taking the tension of fashion in the age of taking pension Dadi." Another wrote, "Madam thodi to Sharm karo please". "You should dress your age," wrote another user. A user called her "Urfi ki nani". However, there was a section on the internet that jumped in the actress' support and called her an inspiration. A user wrote, "I like her dressing sense. She is 64 yrs old n she is fab looking... people please stop  degrading a fashion,which is looking great n not looking gawky or lousy ..Indian mentality should change." Another fan wrote, "What’s wrong with wearing shorts - at any age?!! Free your minds, and this ageist mindset for gosh sakes it’s 2024."

This is not the first time, the actress has been age-shamed for wearing short clothes. Often the actress is trolled for her dressing sense and mindset.

What else do we know about Panchayat 3?

Apart from Neena Gupta, the series also stars Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Chandan Roy and Faisal Malik in pivotal roles. Earlier this month, the makers unveiled the trailer, hinting at a new secretary coming to the district this season. However, old secretary Jitendra's resignation gets cancelled owing to which he returns to Phulera village.
