Actor Pradeep Ranganathan reacted to the ongoing comparisons with Dhanush during an event. Pradeep was recently seen in Dragon, which released on February 21.

Pradeep Ranganathan is currently basking in the success of his recent release Dragon and has received positive reviews for his performance. Amid this, during an promotional event, the actor reacted to the comparison between him and Dhanush.

Pradeep Ranganathan breaks his silence on being compared with Dhanush

A clip was shared on X and it is from a promotional event for Dragon which has now gone viral. In that video, he was asked How do you feel about being compared to Dhanush? Do you see it as a plus or minus?, " To which Pradeep Ranganathanan said "I don't know sir... when I see the mirror I only see myself... my film is running well, both my films... so I think I am doing well.” The film’s director Ashwath Marimuthu too added up and said, ‘I don't see Pradeep as anyone. I see Pradeep Ranganathanan only as Pradeep Ranganathanan.”

Pradeep later thanked the audience for supporting Dragon and giving immense love. He said, “Archana madam (creative producer of AGS) , started this project with the intention of making a great film. Ashwath became emotional upon seeing the response to the film in theatres. We were overwhelmed by the love shown by the Telugu audience. Thank you to the Telugu audience for making this film such a massive hit. Anupama’s role is receiving a great response, and people are even making memes about me calling me the ‘adopted son of Telugu film Industry'”.

Dragon’s box office performance

Dragon has performed well on its first 11 days at the box office. According to a report in Sacnilk, the film  has earned ₹0.35 crore on 12th day and the total collection now stands at ₹75.34 crore. The highest occupancy has been recorded in Vellore (28 %) followed by  Pondicherry (25%), Salem (24%) and NCR (21%).

Dragon is helmed by Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by AGS Entertainment. Apart from Pradeep Ranganathan, the Tamil language film also stars Anupama Parameswaran and Kayudu Lohar, George Maryan, Indumathy Manikandan, Gautham Vasudev Menon and KS Ravikumar among others.
