Pawan Kalyan, who is busy with his Deputy Chief Minister duties, on Friday, criticised Tamil Nadu politicians and called out their "hypocrisy" over the alleged imposition of the Hindi language in the state. He said that they are opposing Hindi, but allowing Tamil movies to be dubbed in that language for monetary gain.
While addressing the Janasena Party's 12th foundation day at Pithampuram in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan said he doesn't understand why people criticise Sanskrit. He also pointed out that Tamil politicians make money from Bollywood but refuse to accept Hindi. "I do not understand why some criticize Sanskrit. Why do Tamil Nadu politicians oppose Hindi while allowing their movies to be dubbed in Hindi for financial gain? They want money from Bollywood but refuse to accept Hindi--what kind of logic is that?" he said.
He further emphasised India's linguistic diversity and said the country needs multiple languages, including Tamil and not just two. He said this will help in maintaining the integrity of the nation and also foster love and unity among its people.
Pawan Kalyan's comment has come amid Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin's refusal to implement the three-language formula in NEP and accused the Union Government of Hindi imposition.
Taking to his X handle, the megastar praised Pawan Kalyan and said that he was mesmerised by his speech at the event. "My faith has only grown stronger that a leader who can fulfill the aspirations of the people has arrived. I bless you so that your victorious journey continues without obstacles, driven by the spirit of public welfare. Heartfelt best wishes to all the Jana Sainiks!” an excerpt from the post reads.
Kamal Haasan, who is the new Chairman of the FICCI Media and Entertainment Committee, South, spoke about his long-term vision for Indian cinema and how will it evolve in the coming years. He also addressed the imposition of Hindi in Tamil Nadu and said that language shouldn't be imposed on a child. "People of Tamil Nadu who have given life for the language, please do not impose it. Even a young child can decide what language they want to learn or not and don't make us take decisions hastily by imposing Hindi," he said.
Coming back to Pawan Kalyan, the veteran actor is gearing up for the release of his much-delayed movie Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword vs Spirit. He also has They Call Him OG and Ustaad Bhagat Singh in his bank.
