Manoj Santoshi, best known for being the screenwriter on the show Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai, breathed his last on March 24. The writer passed away after a long battle with liver cancer. As per India Forums, he died in his hometown in Aligarh with his family present with him during his final moments. Details of his last rites are currently unknown.
Sources close to the family of the writer have confirmed the news of his passing to the publication and requested for privacy during the tough time. In February, actress Kavita Kaushik, best known for her role in FIR, broke the news that Manoj Santoshi was battling a critical liver condition. While she did not reveal much about his condition at the time, she requested fans to pray for his speedy recovery. In her social media post, Kavita also gave a shoutout to Shilpa Shinde, who played Angoori Bhabhi in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain, for taking care of the ailing writer.

Apart from Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain, Manoj Santoshi has also served as a writer for many other popular television sit-coms like Happy Ki Ultan Paltan, Jijaji Chhat Par Hai, May I Come in Madam?, Tere Mer Tedha Medha, Lage Raho Chachu and Madam Ki Paathshala among others. He also made a brief acting appearance in Hotel Beautifool and Tera Mer Tedha Medha.
An official confirmation about the death of Manoj Santoshi is awaited by the family members or the production house of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain.
