Prashanth Neel calls KGF franchise 'easy money', wants to take a break before part 3

Post the release of Salaar, Prashanth Neel opens up on his uber successful KGF franchise - one that the director says he needs a break from.

Prashanth Neel has just seen through the release of his big banner film, Salaar: Part One - Ceasefire. The Prabhas led film released in theatres worldwide on December 22. Prior to the release of the film, there were many speculations about there being a potential overlap between the the world of KGF and that of Salaar. These reports were eventually rubbished by producer Vijay Kiragandur. Prashanth Neel has recently addressed his plans for the KGF universe, particularly KGF 3.

Prashanth Neel says he wants a break from the KGF universe


In an exclusive chat with Galatta, Prashanth Neel revealed that both Yash and he needed a break from the world of KGF as they had committed to it for 8 years. The director also expressed his excitement now that he was working on other stories. Speaking on behalf of KGF star Yash, Neel made it known that the actor too, is happy working on hi next film.

He said, "The only thing I can tell you is that we just didn't put KGF 3 at the end of KGF 2. I think we want to take a break. We wanted to take a break and do something else apart from KGF because we've been with it for eight years and I'm very happy that I moved over and I'm telling another story now. And, Yash is very happy doing his next movie...We just wanted to take a break. I don't think I have a date for that. That's a call that Vijay Kiragandur and Yash will take at some point and we'll definitely make it."

Prashanth Neel calls KGF 'easy money'


Prashanth Neel also pointedly called KGF 3, an "easy money" film, implying it was bound to mint big profits whenever it hit the screens. However, the director was quick to clarify that making money was not the only motivation behind doing KGF 3. However, he emphasized how it was important to feel excited about the work they were doing, which is why he opted to work on Salaar after KGF 2.

He said, "We'll definitely do KGF because... I mean it is easy money. KGF 3, like, I always talk about money, it is very easy money. It has to come at a time when we are excited to make that movie again. It's not like we want to make it because we want to make that much of money. I think we're capable of making... I think I'm capable of making money through other movies and I just need that excitement of doing another story. And, of course, we're excited to do KGF 3..."
