This Sankranti eyes big Tollywood releases: Ravi Teja's Eagle, Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram, Teja Sajaa's Hanu Man, Nagarjuna's Naa Saami Ranga, and Dhanush's Captain Miller. However, as per recent reports, Tollywood filmmakers recently met to discuss the films running. It is now highly likely that Teja’s Eagle will be out of the Sankranti race and will be postponed.
Ravi Teja's Eagle to have a new release date?
According to FilmiBeat, the council requested the filmmakers to withdraw from the Pongal release. They further asked them to allot free-run single release dates in the future. This is being demanded so that there are less clashes and each film gets a chance to run well. The postponement of Eagle might come as a disappointment for Teja’s fans. It is expected that the makers will announce a new release date if there is any change in schedule.
Karthik Ghattamaneni says Eagle is not a serious film
During a promotional media interaction for the film, Eagle director Karthik Ghattamaneni opened up about what audiences can expect from the film. The director addressed how while many would presume that Eagle is a serious film, there is enough entertainment and dark humour to keep the audiences entertained throughout.
Speaking about the film, he said, "We presented the film’s story in the trailer, and hence, people might have felt Eagle is a serious film...Eagle will not have Ravi Teja sir’s mark entertainment, but it will be entertaining in another way. At the end of the day, Eagle is a proper commercial entertainer. As long as the movie is engaging without boring elements, the audience will watch it irrespective of its genre. We haven’t used a few traits of Ravi Teja sir in the film and went ahead as per the story. We suppressed the pro-active trait of Ravi sir."
