Salaar director Prashanth Neel reveals what he does not like about Prabhas
Salaar director Prashanth Neel recently spoke to Baahubali director SS Rajamouli ahead of the film’s release. The ace director who has worked with Prabhas in Baahubali asked the Salaar filmmaker what he did not like about the lead actor while making the film. Prashanth commented that Prabhas was on board with everything that was written for the movie and he found that skeptical.
Prashanth recalled, “When I tell him (Prabhas) a scene, he does not scrutinise it and I go back confused because I first bounce it off with him and then I go back and start wondering if I have to get a second opinion because most of it, like 99% of things I have told him, he questions the drama, he is fantastic with it. It is something I understood very quickly. When I gave him the entire narration, he did not ask me about that scene or this scene in particular.”
Prashanth Neel says he was used to scrutiny while working on KGF
In the same conversation, the KGF director recalled how Prabhas helped him in directing Salaar and did not move away from the writing. He added that the actor trusted him too much, which he was not used to. He added, “He mentioned something which changed the texture of the movie. He (Prabhas) said that the first and the last scene of Salaar Part 2 has to be exactly the same and when he told me that, I was not prepared for it. He did not ask me other things and that was very tough for me to come out of because I am used to being scutinised. I was a nobody in KGF: Chapter 1 and I received good scrutiny while making that film. But over here whenever the hero said it is fantastic, then its like, whatever I have written, I go back and start thinking if this is enough or not. So the worst part about him is that he trusts me too much”
Salaar marks the fourth directorial for Prashanth Neel. All his past movies Ugramm, KGF Chapter 1, and KGF Chapter 2 have been huge commercial successes.
