Yatra 2 teaser: Jiiva to potray Andhra Pradesh's CM Jagan Mohan Reddy in his biopic

Yatra 2, starring Jiiva and Mammootty, is scheduled to release on February 8. Ahead of its release, the makers unveiled the teaser of the film on Friday (January 5). Mahi V Raghav’s directorial is the sequel to the 2019 film Yatra. The sequel narrates the story of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy (played by Jiiva), the current Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, while the first film focused on the life of the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy (played by Mammootty), the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Yatra 2 teaser out
Mammootty took to his X handle and dropped the much-awaited Yatra 2 teaser on Friday. In the caption, he wrote, "The #LegacyLivesOn Presenting the #Yatra2Teaser. A story of promises, commitment, and triumph."
The teaser opens with an event following his father's untimely death where Jagan assumes leadership of the party. From there, we catch a glimpse of his political rivals plotting to falsely accuse him of corruption. But nothing seems to put an end to his rebellion, and as we already know, the narrative will show how Jagan came to become Andhra Pradesh's chief minister.
What to expect from Yatra 2?
Yatra concluded with lakhs of people from all over the state attending YSR's funeral following his tragic death in a helicopter crash. The events following his passing will be covered in the upcoming sequel. It will demonstrate the discord that arose between the Congress party and Jaganmohan Reddy over the condolence march he had planned for his father.
Ketaki Narayanan plays YS Bharathi, Suzanne Bernard plays Sonia Gandhi, and Mahesh Manjrekar plays Nara Chandrababu Naidu in Yatra 2. The film features editing by Shravan Katikaneni and cinematography by R Madhie, with music composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
