The alleged leak of a personal letter written by Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit to the party's Delhi in-charge PC Chacko has bought the party's fissures to light. The incident has also delayed the appointment of a new DPCC chief. Few members of Delhi Congress have publicly blamed Chacko for the leakage of the letter and also demanded his removal.

Congress members demand the removal of PC Chacko

The members have also demanded a committee to be formed to probe the leak of the personal letter. Congress leaders Kiran Walia and Ramakant Goswami held a press conference on Friday and demanded the Party president Sonia Gandhi sack Chacko as in-charge of Delhi Congress.

"The present situation of Congress in Delhi is because of PC Chacko," Goswami said. "The letter was leaked by Chacko who claimed that it was a political letter. We demand the formation of a committee to probe his role as AICC in-charge of Delhi Congress," said party leader Mangat Ram Singhal

'It's a personal letter'

Sandeep Dikshit declined to reveal the content of the letter, "It's a personal letter to him and only him. It is not a legal notice and it's not written to Mrs Gandhi (Sonia Gandhi). It's between PC Chacko and me. I don't think the media or anybody else has anything to do with it," Mr Dikshit told ANI.

New President for Delhi Congress?

Leaders who were close to Shiela Dixit have argued that PC Chacko regularly overturned her decisions and wrote letters due to which her health deteriorated. According to party sources, Sandeep Dikshit's letter talks about the attitude of Chacko and seeks an apology. The Congress sources also revealed that a new President for Delhi Congress might be announced.

PC Chacko in a media statement said, "After reading the letter, I thought the Congress president should be aware of this letter. So, I have forwarded the letter to Congress president." He also said that the decision to take action will be decided in the future."
