IISE: Face recognition introduced by AAI to enhance aviation security

At the IISE, the Airport Authority of India showcased its proficiency in the field of aviation and security systems by introducing a face recognition system.

At a three-day India International Security Expo (IISE), the Airport Authority of India (AAI) showcased its proficiency in the field of aviation and security systems by introducing a face recognition system. The Expo was organised by the PDH Chambers of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI). This happened in collaboration with the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO). The visitors at the expo gathered information about the security requirements as mandated by the Indian Civil Aviation Security Regulator. They also received the complete experience of the ambience at the venue's pavilion.

Airport Authority of India showcases competency 

IISE is India's largest security show that brings Homeland Security, Fire Safety, Traffic Management, Industrial Safety, Disaster Management and Information Security professionals from across private and public sectors, allied organizations and partners. It brings the industry's leading solution providers together for the most comprehensive security education and innovative technology in the nation. The Airport Authority of India showcased top of the line DigiYatra system or popularly known as the face recognition system. It is one of the many other futuristic pioneering security systems. Anuj Aggarwal, the Chairman of the AAI made a statement where he asserted that the face recognition system is going to make the course of travelling much easier as the hassle of going through security checks will be lessened.

"As a part of Digiyatra, this is a face recognition technology where once you are registered and once your credentials are validated, you can pass through airport security checks without having to show your ID cards at different locations." Aggarwal said in a statement.

"There are various other parameters which will be useful to the security staff to track the passengers and have a better security environment," he added.

He also spoke of other parameters which will prove to be beneficial. This new facility is further going to enhance security at the airports. The AAI has been continuously working to address and counter the rising security challenges faced by the authorities. It has come forward with the new technology to ensure a fear-free journey along with other services and comforts.
