Thousands of devotees gathered at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib on November 12, to celebrate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. According to reports, all the devotees offered their prayers and took a holy dip in the 'Sarovar' to mark the celebration. Further reports stated that the Gurudwara has been lit up with festive lights. 

PM Modi, Amit Shah extends wishes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah extended his best wishes and hearty greetings to the entire country on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary. On the other hand, taking to Twitter, Shah hailed the teachings and thoughts of Guru Nanak Dev and stated his resolve to 'serve humanity as an inspiration'.

Kartarpur corridor open to pilgrims

PM Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan inaugurated the Kartarpur corridor at Gurdaspur and Kartarpur respectively on November 9, just a few days before Guru Nanak Dev's birth anniversary. The corridor connects Dera Baba Nanak in India's Punjab with Darbar Sahib at Kartarpur in Narowal district of Pakistan's Punjab province. Further, the corridor also facilitates the visa-free travel of Indian pilgrims to Kartarpur Sahib.
