However, in what can be said as a rare capture and a social media post, the internet has now found a video of elephants swimming in a lake, that too, in India.

While a common notion of elephants is that they walk in herds, the sight of the huge mammal swimming in water is unheard of by most.

Hence, when this video of elephants swimming in Periyar river was posted on Twitter, it got a massive response.

The fact that elephants can be seen using their trunks as snorkels has intrigued netizens even further.
