Priyanka Gandhi to supervise training workshop of new UP Congress unit

Congress leader and Uttar Pradesh in-charge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will supervise a three-day training workshop for the newly-appointed UP Congress Committee in Rae Bareli on October 14, 15 and 16. The district heads of the party will also take part in the training process. Issues related to the Congress ideology and social media usage are set to be discussed. Furthermore, Vadra would commence the workshop and be present in every session.

‘Priyanka Gandhi will meet everyone’ 

The national-level leaders of the party have been given the task of training the new team. This includes the head of the training department, Sachin Rao and the head of social media, Rohan Gupta. Vadra has often pinpointed the need to pitch a strong battle for the 2022 Assembly elections in UP. According to a secretary of the new UP Congress Committee, Congress had identified people from the grassroots and accorded them significant responsibility. He also reckoned that Vadra would meet every participant.  

He said, "Priyanka Gandhi will meet everyone. What will happen in the Rae Bareli training workshop is not known but we are all very excited. The party has given a big responsibility by identifying the grassroots people with the thought that together we will work to strengthen the party in the state."

New committee constituted 

On Monday, it was announced that the Congress president Sonia Gandhi appointed new office-bearers of the UP Congress Committee. Member of Legislative Assembly Ajay Kumar Lallu was appointed as the president of the state unit, while Aradhana Misra ‘Mona’ was declared the leader of UP Congress Legislative Party. Furthermore, 4 general secretaries and 12 vice-presidents were also appointed. Besides this, Vadra would chair advisory and strategy committees.
