12 charred to death, 14 injured in bus-dumper collision in MP's Guna

Twelve people died and some were 'seriously' injured following the collision of a private bus-dumper in Guna, Madhya Pradesh.

Guna: At least 12 people were killed and 14 others sustained severe burn injuries after a bus caught fire following a collision with a dumper in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district on Wednesday night. The private bus collided head-on with the dumper on Guna-Aaron road.

Guna district’s Superintendent of Police confirmed the fatality toll to news agency PTI.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The ill-fated bus was on its way to Aaron while the dumper was headed towards Guna when the collision occurred at around 9 pm.

The SP said there were approximately 30 passengers in the bus at the time of the incident and four passengers managed to come out of the bus and went home.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed grief about this incident and announced assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each for the injured.

The chief minister also ordered a probe into the accident.

The investigations for the probe are underway.
