New Delh: A 15-year-old boy tragically drowned on a waterlogged road near The British School in central Delhi's Chanakya Puri area following heavy rainfall on Friday, officials reported.

The boy, identified as Sourabh, resided with his family at Vivekanand Camp in the same area, according to police. Authorities stated that Sourabh and his friends were playing in the rain on the flooded road near the British School when he accidentally ventured into deeper water and drowned. 

The victim's friends quickly alerted his family members , who rushed to the scene, pulled him from the water, and took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Police have sent the body for a postmortem, and further investigations are ongoing.
